The CIA during the cold war did experiments to test psychic ability in an effort to compete with The Soviet Union, The Soviet Union was also doing experiments on psychic abilities.
The program the CIA enacted in order to do these experiments related to psychic abilities was called The Stargate Program. The thing that was given extra attention with this program was something called remote viewing. Remote viewing is seeing stuff using your consciousness alone, stuff that is beyond the range of your sense.
A website of an ex-member of the stargate program is the following website and there is info on remote viewing and the program at this website.
Remote viewing is also mentioned in The Bhagavad Gita, a hindu scripture that mentions a battle and gives spiritual lessons.
Sanjaya narrates the story of the battle that is in The Bhagavad Gita to a King, he is able to tell The King the story because he is remote viewing. He is not anywhere near the battle and the battle is not over, it is being fought and Sanjaya is observing with is mind alone while he sits in a distant land.
Sanjaya is Dhritarashtra’s advisor and also his charioteer. Sanjaya, who has the gift of seeing events at a distance granted by the sage Vyasa, narrates to Dhritarshtra the action in the climactic battle of Kurukshetra, which includes the Bhagavad Gita.
