Reiki

Reiki is a  japanese method of laying on of the hands, they believe it promotes healing. Reiki is based on the idea that life-energy emanates off of ones body and one can focus that life-energy with ones hands. Through directing that life-energy one can massage the aura of another person. The aura is the energy field that glows off a persons body,

Reiki (霊気?, English pronunciation: /ˈreɪkiː/) is a spiritual practice[1] developed in 1922 by Japanese BuddhistMikao Usui. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing

There are two main branches of Reiki, commonly referred to as Traditional Japanese Reiki and Western Reiki. Within both Traditional and Westernised forms of Reiki, there are three forms of degrees, commonly referred to as the First, Second, and Master/Teacher degree. According to Reiki practitioners and Masters, at First Degree, a Reiki practitioner is able to heal himself and others, at Second Degree is able to heal others distantly (commonly called distant healing) with the use of specialised symbols, and at Master level (specifically Master/Teacher level) is able to teach and attune others to Reiki.

The spiritual life force, or vital spiritual energy, said to reside in all living things (cf. chi n.2). This simple, non-invasive healing system works with the Higher Self of the Receiver to promote health and well being of the entire physical, emotional and psychic body. Therefore it is truly a system of attaining and promoting wholeness of Mind, Body and Spirit.

Difference between massage and reiki:

Touch is another difference. Reiki touch is very light, moving over the body in a series of hand positions. Practitioners can even work from across the room, using techniques taught in their training. Masseurs, however, touch the body, using gloves and lotion, and manipulating muscles and tissue with specific strokes. This touch sometimes involves pressure and can cause pain, unless you tell your practitioner you’re uncomfortable.

Reiki sessions can involve touch but don’t have to involve touch. One can manipulate the aura without touching the body.

Reiki sessions often involve new age music and calling upon someones spirit guides to assist them. People are assigned there own spirit guides by God to offer them guidance throughout their life. Spirit guides are guardian angels.

In the comments section will be linked a youtube video documenting a reiki spiritual attunement.
